Khatu is a village in the Sikar district of Rajasthan. This is the sacred place where the head of Shri Barbaric was miraculously found in about 1027 CE. Shri Barbaric had offered his head to Lord Krishna during the Mahabharata war for the benefit of the world.
Khatu has some other ancient sacred sites besides the Khatu Shyamji temple which include Gaurishankar Mandir., Shyam Kund - from where Shri Barbarik’s head was found and Shyam Bagicha - flowers that are offered in the temple are plucked from here.
