One of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India, Srisailam is situated on the banks of the Krishna River. A pilgrimage with great spiritual importance attached to it because of the unique combination of a Jyotirling and a Shaktipeeth in one place - Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple and the Bhramarambha Temple (Shiva and Shakti).
Besides these two temples, there are a number of other temples, sacred sites and places of interest in and around Srisailam. Sakshi Ganpati temple is the place where devotees go to record their visit to the Jyotirling temple. It is believed Lord Ganesh keeps a note of all devotees who come here.
