Nathdwara is among the most important pilgrimages for Vaishnavites. The Murti of Shri Krishna that is enshrined in the Temple was brought from Mathura in 1672 to protect it from invaders. The Murti was discovered by Shri Vallabhacharya in Govardhan Hill in Brij Bhoomi.
Nathdwara (Gateway to God) is the abode of Shri Krishna. The temple design is based on the Nand Baba temple in Brij Bhoomi and is also known as Nandalaya or Nand Bhavan. In this temple, Shri Krishna is worshipped in His childhood form and can be seen lifting up Govardhan Parvat.
