Kaila Devi is a small town situated in Karauli district of Rajasthan. The town is well known mainly for its ancient Kaila Devi temple. This temple is of particular significance as it is believed Maa Kaila Devi is a form of Maha Yogini Yogmaya who had appeared at the time of Krishna Janma.
The temple was built by Maharaja Gopal Singhji in 1730. In later years Arjun Pal Singh built the man-made kund here. The temple was renovated and enlarged upon by later Kings who also improved the connecting roads and constructed dharamshalas.
