Vaishno Devi – Bhairon Nath Ropeway Details

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has inaugurated ropeway services from Mata Vaishno Devi to Bhairon Nath Temple to make you journey easier from Maa Vaishno Devi Temple to Bhairon Nath Temple. The strenuous journey of 3.5 Km can be covered in 3 minutes.
The tickets for ropeway are available online from official website of Vaishno Devi. You can also buy tickets from the office of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. The charges of tickets are 100 Rs for one way route. Ropeway is thus very comfortable, where a cable car could carry about 45 person per trip to Bhairo Nath and back. You can also carry your luggage along with you.
The ropeway facility has been started for both to-fro from Maa Vaishno Devi Temple to Bhairon Ghati and vice-versa. You can first reach to the Vaishno Devi Temple by 7 Km safe route by your own or can also reach through the facility of palki or horses. Then, you can reach to Bhairon Nath Temple conveniently through ropeway.
The trek to Bhairon Ghati from Vaishno Devi Temple is 3.5 Km, yet it is very severe and extreme. Not only the olds and children but even the adults would not be willing to take the risk to climb the Bhairon Ghati to reach the Bhairon Nath Temple as the way is too steep and dangerous. This is the reason why just few go to Bhairon Nath temple. And the one who would not go to the Bhairon Nath temple their pilgrimage would remain incomplete.

Bhairon Nath, a sage was invited for a feast by Shridhar, a devotee of Vaishno Devi alongwith other 365 other people. Bhairon Nath was fascinated by unearthly powers of the Vaishno Devi, in the form of girl. Bhairon Nath searched her continuously for nine months. Later, he found her drinking water by shooting a stone. Vaishno Devi realized the presence of Bhairon Nath. She entered in a cave to escape from his eyes, yet he was following her. Vaishno Devi moved out of the cave by destroying the left wall of cave with Trident. Then, she took her real form and cut the head of Bhairon Nath. Bhairon Nath asked for forgiveness from Vaishno Devi. The Devi not only forgave him but blessed him that the pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi will not be accomplished without the visit to Bhairon Nath Temple. So, it is must to go to Bhairon Nath after visiting Maa Vaishno Devi Temple.
