Mahalaxmi Temple is open for Darshan from morning 6:00 AM.
The temple closes at night 10:00 PM.
Mahalakshmi Temple Aarti Timings
Morning Main Aarti – 7:00 AM to 7:20 AM
Dhoop Aarti – 6:30 PM to 7:50 PM
Evening Main Aarti – 7:30 PM to 7:50 PM
Shej Aarti – 10:00 PM
Note – The Timings of Dhoop Aarti differs depending on sunset.
Everyday Nivedya is performed at 12:00 PM in afternoon.
The daily pooja includes Mahapooja, Abhishek and Archana.
History of Mahalaxmi Temple
The temple was built back in 1785. The history of building Mahalaxmi temple is connected to building of Hornby Vellard. Hornby Vellard was built in order to unite all the seven islands of Mumbai. While, building Hornby Vellard the sea wall collapse two times. Then, the builder Prathare Prabhu got dream of statue of Laxmi near Worli. He built the same statue and thus Mahalaxmi Temple was construct. After, the construction of Mahalaxmi Temple it was possible to build Horny Vellard successfully.
