The Sun Temple Konark is a temple built in 13-century attributed to God-king Narasingha deva I of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty.  The temple has a grand appearance as 100 feet chariot with immense horses and wheels. This is a classical style of Odisha architecture referred to as Kalinga architecture. The temple was also called ‘Black Pagoda’ in European accounts.
